How to set up the price bars coloration when they close above or below a selected ema in eSignal.

 

 

1. With a selected chart select “Tools”.

 

2. Select “efs”.

 

3. Select “Editor”.

 

4. Select “Open” which will open this file.

 

5. Scroll down to the “price bars” folder.

 

6. Select the (+) sign and it will open up > in the middle you have "MA Price Bars efs".

 

7. Highlight "MA Price Bars. efs" and “Open”

 

8. On line 17 look for “ma” after the back slash and change that to “ema”. Save and Close.     

 

9. Right click on the chart and go to “formulas” then go to “Price bars” folder and select “MA Price Bars”.

 

10). Bars should now change to red and green on your chart when it closes below and above your
       moving average.

 

11. Right click on chart go to edit studies in drop down box. Look for “price bars”, click and you will see display go to “input length" and type “the ema that you want to use”. On the top left there are 3 little boxes you can check. It says "display over ride", check the bottom one. You can also change color if you choose. Select “apply this” then select “OK”.

 

Save your chart now as 'style template" if desired.
